PRODUCTIONS

The Archive of Unbodied Letters
A Hip Hop theatre production conceived, written and directed by Ian Abbott.

Premiere: 5th June 2026, Ngau Chi Wan Civic Centre, Hong Kong - part of The Box 7.0 by HKSDDA
Duration: 70 minutes (full length) and 35 minutes (excerpt)

The Archive of Unbodied Letters exposes the unspoken tensions and power imbalances between Hip Hop OGs and the generations that follow them whilst drawing a parallel to the similarities between the relationships between parents and children across Asia.

It highlights how some of the current Hong Kong Street Dance community navigate those cultural frictions and identity politics to give body and voice to their "minor feelings".

Working with the dancers lived experience and personal archives, TAOUL breaks the forms of popping, waacking and locking, offers the audience a choice to vote for which performance they want to see each night (OGs, Parents or Self) and creates an intimate theatrical storytelling performance with emotional street dance technique and humourous insights into the life and opinions of Gen Z & millenials.

The Archive of Unbodied Letters is available to tour in English or Chinese from 2027; please contact Elaine Lam elainelam@hksdda.org
